Serve in the Military
Personal Development & Community

Why were you inspired to do this?

I come from a military family and a family that strongly believes in serving our country and community in various ways. After graduating high school and spending some time at university without a definite path in mind, I decided that military service (United States Army) would offer me not on the experience of serving my country, but also the life tools that I wanted as I left my teenage years.

What were 3 things you did to make this happen?

Fitness & Toughness (both mental and physical)

Patriotism

Dedication to Duty

How did you feel once you had accomplished this?

I left the United States Army after suffering an injury that did not allow me to continue my service. I was in my second tour and probably would have served my 20 years and retired from active duty had I been able to. I will always be proud of my country, my unit, and my service. It is an experience that had a big part in shaping who I am today.

Additional notes and tips:

I advise speaking with a variety of Veterans if you are considering military service to determine the path that is right for you.

Z.W., When we did research many people we interviewed highlighted how serving their country was one of the most significant experiences they had in their life. So much so that we made it #2 on the MLL 90. Thank you so much for sharing your story. Look forward to following you, as you have had some fantastic experiences. Bill
